HydrO2 facial is a different machine but delivers the same treatment as Hydrafacial with additional benefits. Hydrafacial does not provide Electro Ion, Radio Frequency, Ultrasound and Fire & Ice whereas HydrO2 does ... it's Hydrafacial but better!

So, what’s included in this multi-step treatment?

HYDROPEEL

Hydropeel is the latest technology in exfoliation. Why exfoliate? To make way for new, healthier skin cells and ensure we maintain a vibrant glow!

Hydropeel has three steps

• Step 1 - AHA deep cleanse. Using a solution of AHA acids (lactic and glycolic) the skins surface is cleansed and smoothed by dissolving away the rough and scaly keratin. Removing this superficial outer layer immediately creates brighter, smoother looking skin and prepares the skin for Step 2.

• Step 2 - BHA deep cleanse. Now the skins keratin has been smoothed away, BHA acids (salicylic) are used to remove black heads, reduce excess sebum and deep cleanse the skins pores.

• Step 3 - The final solution contains galactomyces ferment filtrate (to reduce discolouration), hyaluronic acid (to plump and firm) and acetyl hexapeptide 8 (to reduce fine lines and wrinkles). This part of the hydro peel facial usually follows exfoliation and comes towards the end of the treatment to help restore the skins natural barrier.

EXFOLIATION

A capsule is attached to a vibration tool to further remove dead skin cells and oxygenate the skin. The mixture of vibration, the capsule and a glycerine based gel cause effervescence and CO2 on the skins surface. The body immediately reacts by sending oxygenated blood to the skins surface, causing a slight reddening as the skin is nourished from within.

Why is oxygenation so important? Because not only does oxygenated skin look firmer, revitalised, and more plump it’s also better able to resist the signs of ageing and optimise cell turnover. It’s a win, win!

OXYGENATION

Not satisfied with just oxygenating the skin from within, I also like to oxygenate externally.

A lack of oxygen slows down cell metabolism, ages skin cells prematurely, reduces skin firmness and gives a dull complexion.

Applying oxygen to the skin using the oxygenation spray helps to increase cell metabolism and improve these concerns. Some bacteria are not able to live in oxygen, so applying oxygen to the skin will give this anti-bacterial effect, having a positive effect on congestion.

ELECTRO-ION LIFTING

Electro-ion technology has two significant benefits. Firstly, it gives a slight muscle contraction and temporary lifting effect so the face appears more taught. Secondly, using electroporation it creates a small electrical pulse to create a tiny pore in the cell membrane. Carefully selected serums from our skin care range are then able to penetrate through the pores in these cells waking up dull skin and encouraging cell renewal.

RADIO FREQUENCY SKIN TIGHTENING

During Radio Frequency (RF) treatment the Dermis (middle layer of the skin) is heated to between 40-42 degrees. By heating the dermis we stimulate the production of new collagen and an increase in the diameter of existing collagen fibres. The result, less space between collagen fibres meaning the skin appears tightened with reduced fine lines and wrinkles. Skin laxity is greatly improved and while this treatment will immediately improve skins tone and texture, positive benefits will continue for months after the treatment.

ULTRASOUND

Ultrasound technology is used for product infusion The frequency of the ultrasound allows more active ingredients to penetrate the skin’s barrier so again, carefully selected skin care product scan be more effectively infused.

But Ultrasound also has two other benefits for facial rejuvenation.

• Thermal benefit - An increase in temperature has a stimulating effect on blood flow and activates cell metabolism. Increased blood flow means more nutrients and oxygen are carried to the skin which results in a healthy glow.

• Biochemical Benefit - Ultrasound creates a micro-massage in the tissue, which stimulates the formation of new collagen. The more collagen we have, the less wrinkles and lines!

FIRE & ICE

This tool has two functions

• Fire - By repeatedly bringing the skin to a temp of 42°c this helps to create heat-shock proteins. These proteins help to repair the skin and strengthen the skins elasticity.

• Ice - The 5°c temperature instantly tightens your pores, decreases your surface blood supply and gives an instant brightening and tightening effect. The ice tool is used towards the end of your treatment to ensure all of the products used are locked in to your skin.
